Maths Specialist - FiloMaths

I have known tat girl since My Poly 2nd year. We are very much closer especially after my NS. We went out very regularly. Of course, the more we meet, the tendency of quaralling is higher. The Worst is that both of us have a total different thinking (when she thinks A is right, I say A is wrong…then we start to argue until we ‘roar’ at each other) But how are we going to avoid all these, to achieve a stable and secure friendship? She is hot-tempered so am I. Just that I have a better control than her…:)

Most importantly is that you must know that when you are going out with someone, definitely inside our hearts, we are searching happiness not anger or sorrow. We need to understand each other truly and most important is to master your temper.

It is impossible that we always agree the same things. When we unable to agree the same thing, both of us will start to raise our tones. Once you sensed the raising of the tone on either parties, be more aware of your temper. It is easier for you to control yours than the other. Once you controlled yours, the other person will naturally be controlled by you.

How to control your temper so that the other will cool down?

You can talk a total different issue.

Example: Both of you quaralled because she waited for you for too long and when you explained to her why you were late, she dun accept and ‘temperature’ around both of you begin to rise. When it is about to ‘rise’ quite fast, immediately say " How is your Mum? Does she think of me"(anything that is funny and lame).

Then please dun bring out the issue again because you know that the issue is a ‘Bomb’. Change yourself if you know you are wrong! Be Honest!

What if the ‘Bomb’ exploded?

You must understand her enough. Most important, Stay Calm! if you dun really understand her or dun know what to do. If talking to her is rejected or ignored, you can sms to apologize to her. Criticise yourself in a joking way.

Example:

I am a jerk who always make you angry. You should dip my head into your shit so to wake me up. I am willing to let you do that, just because I know I was wrong(even though you maybe right, next time then take your ‘right’ back lah). I treasure our relationship. What about you? I know you are a Human Being - has feeling….wait for a while after sending the msg.

Once reply, msg her FREE tonite(bcos the night is cooling).

When you go out with her tonite, pls be a joker. Dun talk anything serious! Send her home happily.

IMPORTANT Things to Remember:

1)No point being a winner in quaralling bcos when a ‘bomb’ exploded, everyone is hurt deeply.

2)Talk things out when you are calm.

3)A small issue can be A big ‘BOMB’. Be careful! When it is small, ‘kill’ it.

4)It takes years to build a relationship, but a second to blow it.

5)Life is short, who knows whether we are able to see sun rise tomolo.

6)Since Life is short, dun quaralled over small issue like why you go out with other guys. Trust her, if not dun go stead wif her. If you suspect her means that you are poor in choosing the right stead.

7)If she wants to go out with other guy friends, accompany her not monitor her.

8)Remember she is a Human not a bird or a dog.

My birthday is so-called a crucial day. Why? It always falls on examination period - where got mood to celebrate? Coming to entrepreneur’s life, Not much time for birthday celebration, sometimes I can completely forgotten 23 Oct is my birthday.

This year finally My birthday falls on a good day after 28 yearssssss…hahaha.

Firstly, My best friend can celebrate with me till very late because she n I dun have to work on Saturday. It is a Public Holiday. Secondly, My brother went to Taiwan to join Dao Bian Xin Dong(just joking). He goes there for a holiday. Yeah! I had his car for about 5 days(woww).

I drove his car to fetch my best friend on Friday at her working place. We went to Singapore Stadium to have our dinner at Mushroom Pot. A birthday dinner treat cost her over $60. erh!!!  Surprisingly, just after dinner, she told me she bought birthday presents… wow wow! When we were on our way to my brother’s home, she even request to buy a cake back to eat. Wa Piang! My birthday cost her a ‘Bomb’. I touched but I ’scared’ because when comes to her birthday, it will cost me Bigger Bomb - Atomic BOMB(it worths spending, where can I find such a good friend?)!

After watching movies at my brother’s place till 2am, I sent her home.

Again, We met again on my actual birthday, fetched her from her work place and went for dinner together again. After dinner, we went to my brother’s place to finish up the remaining cake that we have left on Friday - bo liao right? Actually, we wanted to go Night Tour around but she was tired(later she snored in my brother’s car and I accidentally sent her to night safari )! Sending her Home and say goodbye my trusted friend!!!

I have a lot of friends around me but most of them have motives behind them especially once I started my business. In the business world, we must know how to make complicating thing into simple thing.

Example: You know A is lying you. You must either keep quiet or agree using your wisdom not intelligent. Let A do whatever he or she wants. You just do all prevention with the least effort and time so that friendship can maintain - no enemy. You need to use your inner pure wisdom to act so that ‘A’ has no chance to think and act to harm you. It is very difficult as You need to find your inner self to get the strategies of it. It acts so nature that you have no effort or stress using the strategies…

I like challenges, therefore l am an self-employed. Life is short and a lot of things always look so complex but I treasure every moment and always look at things in life as simple as possible.

Sometimes I knew some my friends is lying yet I pretend I don’t know so to satisfied their expectation. My expectation to friends is very simple just don’t cheat me. She is the only friend who I have known her since my Poly 2nd year till now! The only who I can trust and confide my feeling.

Who inspired me to Set-up Maths Specialist and not going to Real-Estate which I also have Passion in?

Before My ORD, I attended Dennis Wee Property Training course about $300 plus(I forgotten the exact amount). I thought Property is wat I interested in. The course was very good. The first training that I find great! However, I realised before I can be a successful agent, I need to invest on ads, namecards and etc. I’m just a young man, I dunno how long my saving can last. I worried before I can be a successful agent, I am ‘dead’. Actually I want to give up 1 of my student to fully focus on Property but I feel uneasy…therefore, I asked myself again what actually I interested and confident in. I realised, teaching is my passion and is a meaningful career because if you can turn a Maths ‘Idiot’ to Genius. The Satisfaction goes beyond what words can describe. I can earn a living, build a career while doing good deeds - life is short. But how to start recruiting many students so that I can survive. I asked a lot of questions to myself..

1. How to utilize what I learned in Dennis  Wee’s Property Training into my Maths Tuition Career, so that not all my money and time are wasted?

2. How much money I can afford to lose? ( I don noe any single thing about setting up a business and marketing , I need to Trial and Error, learn fast and Pick up fast!)

3. How should I start?(the most difficult and headache question)

4. What kind of ads is Low Cost but Effective?

5. What is my backup plan if Plan A dun work?

6. What is my backup plan if eventually I have to give up tuition?

7. What should I do to convince people that I am gifted in teaching?(I never go for any training course to teach me how to teach)

8. Why they have to Choose me as a tutor?

9. How to make myself stands OUT?

10…..I dunno wat questions I asked myself…

[The Starting is the Most Challenge(Key). Once you get it, you start to Walk(Start the car engine). If you can walk, to run will be Easy!]

My Brief Background!

My dad is a butcher earning about $2000 and later working as a storeman earning about $1.5k to $2k. My Mum is a housewife. I am the youngest with 2 sisters and 1 brother. No One give me any single cents or tell me how to start up MATHS SPECIALIST. Maybe you think I am the youngest, having a lot of Ang Baos. Unfortunately almost all my AngBaos are used to pay for my dad’s debt(My dad is a honourable and upright man. People take advantage of these causing him to owe the pig farm about $10k to $20k during 1987).

Where I get the money from?

My personal savings saved over the years since 1996 to 2001. I saved by working Part-time immediately after my ‘O’ level. I worked as waiter in KFC, Club Kabuki and others. I worked as clerk, warehouse assistant, shipping coordinates, computer technician, salesman and etc. Of course, I gave tuition at the same time since 1995. I picked a lot of skill, gained a lot of knowledge about financial. I learnt to SAVE unconsciously and SPEND consciously. Wow… then I saved a lot of money, is it? Yes! When I was 18 years old, I was quite rich compare to my friends because I already earned about $1.5 to $2k per month during school holiday and almost $1k per month during school times. I thought I was smart and was ‘cheated’ about $10k in Spot-Cash investment.

It was a terrible and painful lesson to a 18 years old teen. No one knew it so No one comforted me. That was the day I learned to be strong, firm and calm. Without affecting my academic, the problems are 100% solved. I start all over again to save. I learned a lot from that precious lesson. It is a great gift. Without it, I won’t have the ability to set up Maths Specialist, shaping the life I want. Yes! I passed that Life ‘Examination’ with flying colour.

I was doing pretty well in P1 to P3. In P4, gradually deccelerating but come to 1 of the paper(I forgotten test or exam). I score over 90%. I labelled myself as SMART. Disappointally, in P5, my test keeps getting 26/50 to 28/50 until it finally cannot take it and dropped to just failed. I was slightly an average in class. Oh yeah!

Finally, come to P6, My Maths has a steep drop, I think the gradient is closed to infinitely…I get 3/50. When I start getting such an awesome result, I begin to tell my very first lie. I tell my mum I get 10/50(at least 2 digits, look nicer). Follow by second lie. I tell my tutor I get 10/50. I afraid they found out(I never tell lies and do not have such genes..heee) so I am very hardworking. I practising my Maths quietly, solving all questions all by myself no matter how difficult they are. Sometimes, 1 question can take me over a few months to finally get the solution all by myself. I asked my sister, wow they give me all the aliens methods(algebra). Forget it, I solved it by myself. I am shy, I never ask my tutor  any questionssss. can you imagine how shy am I when I tell you that even aunt, I never dare to call ‘aunt’. Of course, I skipped and practised other questions, then come back to the difficult questions again and again. I unconsciously build up a Never-say-Die Attitude. Finally, PSLE prelim I score over 60%. Since my 1st test in P6, I get 3/50. I failed all the way till Final Prelim, all below 20/50….wow, but of course above 10/50. Otherwise, I am a dead meat before the PSLE. My mum and definitely will wacked me until my butt burst if they know I tell lies and failed so badly

I am so lucky that when come to Mid-year Maths Exam, I have chicken pox, I don’t need to take the Exam. Therefore my report is so BLUE. My lies was kept. I finally keep going till my PSLE. When the result is announced, my teacher was surprised I get A. No one believe that I can do it!

No one knows the secret until I confessed after my diploma. I changed!

If you don’t create 3/50, you don’t have to tell lies. Everything there is cause and effect. Therefore, I learnt to do prevention before unnecessary thing happened. Not wait for it to happen then cure. It needs more energy to cure than to prevent. Therefore…Prevention is better than Cure.

Failing is just the begining of a test to test us how persistence are you. If you keep going, ‘Fail’ will eventually give up on you. You begin to Passssssss then Succcessss.

I finally complete my filomaths’ webbie! I never learn to do web design before but I am eager to learn it by myself. If I spell wrongly, pls forgive me as my English is not ‘powderfool’. I am good in EngKien(English-Hokkien). I done it! With background music, form submission and $$$ transaction. Most important is how to make your web into your 24HR ATM.
